24.81 Megapixel Full-Frame 35mm Sensor from Sony
The read speed of this 24.81 Megapixel sensor is 6.3 frames per second – in 12bit colors. Obviously expect to find this sensor in upcoming high-end digital SLR cameras from Sony. The production of this senor will begin sometimes in 2008, so we think that it’s likely that the first camera will appear sometimes in Q4 2008. The (Spy) Recording Pen
What looks like a normal pen at the first sight, ends up being an audio recording pen. Since it is made for spies and all the wanna-be’s, the device is well cloaked and not even a FBI agent could work with it. Review: Wipeout Pulse for PSP

Review: Wipeout Pulse for PSP
Wipeout Pulse is Sony’s latest lighter-than-air racing effort on the PlayStation Portable. The game is still about two weeks away from its official release date, but some near-finished review code showed up at my doorstep a few days ago. Read on to find out whether you should get in the anti-gravity race or stay off the track. I first got a look at Wipeout Pulse back in December during Sony’s Spring 2008 Preview Event. At the time, there wasn’t much for me to say about the game, because I didn’t spend terribly long with it. But now that I’ve run through the game, I have a much better idea of what the series is about and how this game fits into it. (Read the full post about ‘Review: Wipeout Pulse for PSP’…)

Wicked Lasers announces the fire-starting Torch

Wicked Lasers announces the fire-starting Torch
We had lots of fun with the lasers that we were able to play with recently, thanks to Wicked Lasers. Granted we really have no good use for them ourselves, but they are still fun to play with. The higher powered lasers were able to do some minimal damage in the form of lighting matches or popping a balloon, but Wicked Lasers has taken this to a new level with the introduction of their new Torch. The Torch, according to Wicked Lasers is the “world’s brightest and most powerful flashlight” and has “4100 Lumens with an adjustable high efficiency reflector.” Given that, it does have some pretty amazing power with the ability to burn plastic, light paper or even fry and egg or toast a marshmallow. iLuv i1155 Multimedia Player with iPod Dock
If you’re sick and tired of watching your favorite movies through the iPod’s tiny display, there is always the iLuv i1155 to help you out. This iPod dock comes with an 8.4″ TFT LCD display and a car adapter, making this one truly portable unit. I’m not too confident of its use in a vehicle though as driving through bright sunlight will probably result in washed out colors for passengers in the back seat. At $249.99 a pop, you get the following :- DVD playback supported 8.4? (Read the full post about ‘iLuv i1155 Multimedia Player with iPod Dock’…)

Sony profits up thanks to Cybershot, PS3 success

Sony profits up thanks to Cybershot, PS3 success
Sony has posted a small rise in quarterly profits recently, but are being cautious about painting too rosy a picture. Sony’s Cybershot series of cameras and Handycam camcorders had a strong fourth quarter which helped to bolster the Japanese giants overall numbers. Sony even managed to get better numbers out of it’s gaming division by lowering production costs on the PS3 as well as getting some improved sales figures for the PSP. “The game division turning into the black is a positive,” said Takeshi Osawa, a senior fund manager at Norinchukin Zenkyoren Asset Management. “But the U.S. (Read the full post about ‘Sony profits up thanks to Cybershot, PS3 success’…)

A cell phone with no buttons?

A cell phone with no buttons?
Some experts think that in near future we will go back to using simple devices. Even now there is a growing tendency to produce less functional, but very original things. This happens because there are people who don’t pay much attention to the amount of functions that a device has and the only criterion while buying something is design of the gadget. Cell phones are not an exception. The given gadget is just of that kind. It’s absolutely different from all the things that you’ve seen before. Its novelty consists in the fact that there are no buttons at all. Instead of them it has holes. So to “push” a button you just need to stick your finger into the hole. Google To Work With Dell?

Google To Work With Dell?
Word on the street has it that Google is currently planing to work together with Dell on launching a cell phone sometime down the road. It seems that this plan will be unveiled to all and sundry at the 3GSM conference at Barcelona next month, although Google insiders do mention otherwise. If true that might be a tough entry for Dell, which doesn’t really design or manufacture phones. It has been a long time since the Dell PDAs were hot, and the company is already in enough trouble as it is, with plans to shut down all other kiosks throughout the US. Sony Puts Everything on Black in Picture Frame Game

Sony Puts Everything on Black in Picture Frame Game
Sony would very much like you to know that it is now making those expensive digital picture frames. Sony’s are dark and minimalist, eschewing the "block of wood-colored plastic trash" aesthetic preferred by most manufacturers. The nine-inch DPF-V900, and seven-inch V700 and D70 frames offer 800×480 resolution displays cut to a 15:9 aspect ratio. The D70 has 256MB of RAM, while the other models have 512MB. If you’re worried that’ll only be good for a couple of hundred shots, note that the frames can auto-resize anything coming in to its puny native screen dimensions, which should get that number into the thousands.
