The latest Sony Bravia W series is the Sony W4500, which consists of three sizes, with the middle size being the 46-inch Sony KDL-46W4500. The W4500 series comes neatly in at the higher end of their range, but below the XBR series. This means you get some great features for a decent price, as the features only found on the highest-end models last year, are now featured on the KDL-46W4500 at a much better price. I currently own the W3000 series, and am still very happy with it, even though I look at much newer models each day from running this site. The 46-inch Sony Bravia KDL-46W4500 features a full HD 1080p 10-bit LCD screen which can reproduce more colors than a standard screen, providing a better image. With a high dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000:1, the latest Sony Bravia Engine 2 processing, and Motionflow 100Hz with IB reduction the Sony KDL-46W4500 is feature packed. You may not think much about your keyboard, but apart from the mouse, pretty much everything you do to your computer goes through it. That’s why quality keyboards, like the Apple II Extended and the IBM model M, can make aficionados swoon. Typing is so integral to the computing experience that a good-quality keyboard makes a world of difference. But is it worth spending $170 to get a better keyboard than the one that came with your computer? For the last couple of weeks I have been using the Das Keyboard, a sleek black monolith with many of the features of Apple’s and IBM’s legendary input devices. In fact Das Keyboard touts its product as very similar to the Model M, and it contains mechanical, Cherry MX-style key switches, just like the IBM. Hate flying because of the change in pressure that keeps your ears all blocked up? Well, with the Ear Pressure Equalizer, you are able to suck whatever air out of the outer ear canal so that the particular annoying feeling is removed. Unfortunately, we would much rather recommend sucking on a sweet instead of forking out £38.95 for this device. It definitely won’t win you any points with the hot chick sitting beside you, given the fact that you will have to tote around this dorky looking device during takeoff and landing. Was a somewhat surprised by last weeks winner, Krups Nescafe Dolce Gusto Single Serve Coffee but then again I don’t know many gadget lovers that don’t also enjoy a caffienne fix, congrats to Single Serve Coffee on their first CGOTW week win. The Krups Nescafe Dolce Gusto not only makes a perfect cup of single serve coffee, it can also make lattes, cappuccinos, shots of espresso, chococinos (hot chocolate), and even iced cappuccinos. And not only does it make an amazing range of drinks, this is one of the first single serve coffee makers to have a “round water reservoir”, and to also look truly different than any other single serve coffee maker we’ve seen. JVC has stopped making standalone VCR machines, and at the same time confirmed the fearful paranoia of my own rather forward thinking Father.
My Dad has a big collection of videotapes, mostly off-air recordings of Star Trek: The Next Generation (backed up by shop-bought copies of the other Star Trek franchises). Years ago, he foresaw the day when VCRs would no longer be sold, and to be sure, it’s been hard to find one in stores for a while. His answer? He bought a spare machine, the exact same model as the one he currently uses. The spare was stored, unopened, in the attic, waiting for this very day.
It’s over.

Motorola is more famous for their line of cell phones more than anything else, but this time round the company takes a slightly different route by introducing a couple of portable GPS navigation systems that help you find your way around, especially in unfamiliar territory. These two models, the MOTONAV TN20 and TN30, will be available on an exclusive basis at RadioShack Corporation. Let us take a closer look at both devices right after the jump before coming to a conclusion as to whether they are worth bringing home or not. The Motorola MOTONAV TN20 is the lower end device of the two, but that doesn’t mean it lacks in terms of quality. (Read the full post about ‘Motorola rolls out MOTONAV TN20 and TN30′…)

by Darren Murph, posted Oct 27th 2008 at 9:54AM We know, you’re just dying to say this is a complete shock, but we’re here to inform you that it’s not. If you’ll recall, Cox dug deep to snatch up a decent block of spectrum in this year’s 700MHz auction, and it even went so far as to promise a differentiated product that would eventually integrate with its other content and services. Sure enough, it’s keeping its word. After spending $500 million on wireless capacity in its markets, president Pat Esser says it’s time to turn things on. By relying on Cox’s own 3G network (along with Sprint’s, initially), the carrier will offer up an undisclosed amount of handsets that will “include a network address book that automatically synchronizes with home PCs” and allow remote programming of one’s DVR. I hate pain, but then again there are others who have extremely high tresholds for pain that they embrace it. For those who are like me, here is a piece of good news - the NanoVibronix PainShield MD emits ultrasonic waves through a disposable patch which is placed on the patient’s skin, helping stop pain in the process. Does this mean a whole new generation of children will grow up being averse to pain as moms and dads use this at every single bump or cut? Hopefully not, or we’ll lose out our competitive edge when it comes to life then.

by Darren Murph, posted Oct 27th 2008 at 3:31PM Hard to believe, nay, mind-boggling, that two full years after Nintendo launched the Wii in America we’re still looking at shortages. In the midst of “economic turmoil,” no less. Back in April, Reggie Fils-Aime proclaimed that he was “passionately upset” about the difficulty consumers were having in finding Wii consoles, and now that yet another holiday season is upon us, it’s clear that he’s made some changes. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, he admitted that Wii production was up from 1.6 million units per month (during this time last year) to 2.4 million units per month (now), though he wouldn’t go so far as to say you’d have an easy time finding one.
