Talk about being super cute - these Mini DJ Turntable Speakers are small enough to be carried around in a pocket or hang from a backpack, and can connect to virtually any audio source including the ever popular ipod, other PMPs and even laptops. No stereo with this though, as it comes with a single speaker that is loud enough to keep you entertained while you’re waiting for the bus to arrive, although people around you might not appreciate your choice of music. Each purchase comes with a USB cord for it to charge via a PC, which is a good thing since you won’t be draining juice from the device you’re connected to. It will come in a variation of three mixed scratches to suit most tastes. (Read the full post about ‘Mini DJ Turntable Speakers’…)

Do you like your toast dark? How about the Dark Side of the force? If the path of a Dark Jedi is your calling, you may want to remind yourself by branding all of your toast with the dark lord himself. This Darth Vader toaster will brand a semblance of Vaders helmet on to your toast every morning. They probably made this toaster due to this quote from Star Wars IV: A New Hope: Darth Vader: I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was the student, now *I* am the master. Obi-Wan: Only a master of toast, Darth. Now make me a delicious yet wholesome breakfast. The toaster runs a cool $55 and is available at the Star Wars Shop. (Read the full post about ‘The Dark Side of the Toast’…)

SMobile is putting out some software to protect your G1 called VirusGuard. Android is a very open OS and plenty of people have thought about how to keep it secure. While Google has a kill switch for apps, that doesn’t stop you from downloading and running malware. This new application aims to protect Android from malware, spyware and viruses. VirusGuard only costs $4.99 and you can get it through Handango.com. Will you need something like this? Android is built on Linux, but that doesn’t stop people from creating malware apps to make a mess of everything. I am curious about what kind of resources VirusGuard will require to run. A background app monitoring everything that is going on could be a resource hog. I’m sure many of us have had our bad Norton Anti-Virus experiences. If you decide to pick up VirusGuard, let us know in the comments. (Read the full post about ‘Android to get anti-malware software’…)

This cool site, sayhear.org has offered up four numbers to call in, one for each party (sorry, it’s only Republican, Democrat, 3rd Party) and one for non-voters. Folks are anonymously calling in and leaving a simple message that we can listen in on. It is unbelievably enlightening to hear what chords have struck with other voters in other parts of the country. For every bitter non-voter there is a passionate voter. For every passionate voter there are ones voting out of fear. It is just amazing to listen to this as it feel almost like voyeurism. I hear anywhere. Considering that most people have accurate clocks on their cellular phones, I’m not certain how many people still wear watches anymore. Most watches usually have the same design with the time-face itself, and then a band around it. This new concept watch from Clogau Gold is very interesting because the band itself is actually the watch. As you can see from the picture, the watch has certain sections that are interchangeable. With this, you can change them to match whatever it is the user is wearing that night. As for how the user tells the time, it is most unusual. You see those two lights that are on the wrist on the picture to the right? One of these lights is like the hour hand, and the other is the minute hand. If you are a digger for gizmos with small form factors, this first brainchild from the Korean company MintPass will most likely leave you lusting shamelessly for one - the WiFi-enabled multimedia device called the MintPad. The MintPad is probably the coolest mini-gadget that we’ve seen in quite a while. Though it looks absolutely cute, the device has sophisticated functions. Cut it up and you find that it is somewhat like a mini-tablet pc - a 3-inch TFT screen, 1.3MP camera, and 4GB memory for playing music, videos and storing photos (with support for upto 8GB microSD). The interesting thing however is, you can create notes similar to Post-It notes and send it out to your friends via Wi-Fi. (Read the full post about ‘Digital Post-It comes to life with the MintPad’…)

AT&T CEO Ralph De La Vega is no fan of Google’s Android mobile operating system. De La Vega says AT&T is evaluating Android and "is not prepared" to carry phones featuring the newly launched OS on its network. "The platform is still evolving and needs to open up even more to offer a wider array of non-Google applications," quotes the San Francisco Chronicle. The comments come two weeks after Sprint CEO Dan Hesse expressed similar sentiments when he said Android isn’t good enough yet to put the Sprint brand on it. This is not good news for Google. The success of Android will eventually depend on how telecom carriers in North America embrace devices with the OS. (Read the full post about ‘AT&T Rejects Google’s Android’…)

In last month’s demo video of Asus forthcoming all-in-one Eee Top PC, we saw a few glitches as the touch screen computer failed to, well, let itself be touched. Asus must be confident that those wrinkles are gone, as it has posted the official details for two Eee Top models today, the ET1602 and ET1603. Both Eee Top models feature a 1.6GHz Atom processor, widescreen 15.6″ display, a gig of RAM, 160GB hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, speakers, SD card reader and a 1.3MP webcam. They’ll both ship with Windows XP Home modified with Asus’ big-icon Easy Mode. The difference between the models is in the graphics. The 1602 has integrated graphics, but the big brother gets its own proper graphics card in the shape of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD3450. The My Old Wallet screams out “stocking stuffer” to me because of its stocking stuffer price of $15. It’s the newest of 11 different recyclable “Mighty Wallets” sold by Dynomighty.com, which also sells magnetic jewelry and accessories, including the popular Desk DOTS. My Old Wallet, like all Mighty Wallets, has two interior pockets for cash, two credit card pockets, and two business card pockets. All Mighty Wallets are made of 25% recycled milk and water containers woven into a lightweight micro fiber material which resists tearing (due to the random interlocking patterns of the plastic fibers). Give it to the boy who has a fondness for things in his grandpa’s attic. (Read the full post about ‘My Old Wallet - Recyclable, slim wallet looks vintage’…)

With the last iphone update, a great thing happened. My battery life went WAY up. Instead of having to charge the phone every two days or so, I could go an entire week without a charge. I had heard rumors of increased battery life, but I was REALLY impressed with this update. There was a side effect, however. My email icon stopped working. When I turned on my phone, it wouldn’t automatically know how many emails I had. The number on the icon was almost always WRONG. It kind of pissed me off, but then my faith in the almighty Apple kicked in and I thought, “They’ll fix it.” They didn’t. Over the last few weeks, I kept getting angrier and angrier at Apple because my stupid email icon was NEVER right. (Read the full post about ‘Don’t Push, Fetch’…)
